Prayer for those affected by bushfires and floods
All things look to you, O Lord,
to give them their food in due season:
look in mercy on your people, and hear our prayer for those whose lives and possessions have been lost, or are threatened by fire and flood.
In your mercy restore your creation and heal our land.
Protect those who fight the fires, and those who care for them.
So guide and bless your people,
That we may enjoy the fruits of the earth
and give you thanks with grateful hearts,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (APBA, p.205)
Our thoughts and prayers are with our sisters and brothers in Gippsland, especially in the La Trobe Valley and West Gippsland areas, and throughout Australia who are under threat from bushfires and flood.
